Brandon and I spent this past summer in Orlando, Florida. I know, right! The ENTIRE summer vacation in paradise! Well, I wish I could share exciting stories about wasting the days away at "The Happiest Place on Earth", Universal Studios, or Harry Potter Land ... but unfortunately, our time was spent a little differently. All i really have to tell is the tale of the door to door "Bug Girl". Here's a few highlights.
SMALL ASIAN MAN WITH A GUN:
Say what!? Yes, the first account I ever sold was to a man who answered the door with a gun!! I knocked, timidly, on his door and then heard "WHO IS IT!?" in a really deep, manly voice. "Just the Bug Girl!" I said, a little hesitant. The door opened and there stood a surprisingly small Asian man, gun in hand.
Then.... He smiled! "Oh, let me put the gun away!" He listened to my pitch and apparently needed pest control!! Lucky me, a golden sale(: He signed the paperwork, gave me payment, and even asked me about my life! The man I thought was going to kill me ended up being one of the kindest people I would come across all summer!
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY:
The 4th is a BIG day in the summer sales world because alot of people are home and outdoors. I was so excited and thought I was going to get tons of sales... My third door, an old man answered and gave me the typical, "Don't you know there's no soliciting here!?" I kindly apologized and excused myself from his presence. I blew it off since it was only the beginning, but as I walked down the street the man came back outside and stared at me. Creepy! "You look VERY suspicious!" (In my mind I'm thinking... Me suspicious? Yeah.. I'm going to spend my Fourth of July away from my husband and friends walking outside in the heat and humidity in an ugly Terminix polo, khaki shorts, and a goofy hat.. To what? Steal from you?) He called the cops and I was kicked out before I got to the end of his street... Just a day in the life. The day ended up going well, however. Brandon pulled out 4 sales and I had 2! AND we got to watch the Disney firework show!
Summer sales has it's ups and downs. I could go on and on about crazy people, but I would rather remember the fun dates we had when we weren't talking about bugs!
Most Friday mornings we got to go to the Orlando Temple!! So beautiful. 
Went to a Tampa Bay Ray's game! (Of course Brandon loved that!)
Raced Go Karts.
Met Alligator Greg!!!
Went on a date to a pirate dinner show(:
Caught a bunch of sharks deep sea fishing! (They make for good nuggets!)
Met the loveliest 90 year old lady!!! She had so many beautiful stories to share(:
... So besides the whole knocking doors thing, I guess Florida was pretty amazing. I'm still bitter we didn't get to go to Harry Potter Land but we did so many other awesome things! My favorite was the Coke0 400 but I don't have any pictures of that (refer to first blog post). We met incredible people we are blessed to call friends! The best thing about our adventure was how much Brandon and I grew as a couple! I could not have survived without his love, support, and hard work! I love you.
